Spotlight on: Aimee Epstein

We're taking some time this month to introduce a few of our newest members to the office. We have a great team at H+A and we're super thrilled to have them helping us design beautiful award-winning spaces. This week we're happy to officially introduce one of our newest designers, Aimee Epstein.

 Aimee joined the H+A team in February 2013. Her experience includes both academic and residential projects, as well as master planning and graphic design work. She received her Masters Degree in Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design in 2011 where her work engaged interests in sculpting social experiences through connectivity and atmosphere. Also at the GSD, she studied with Shigeru Ban and helped to develop a tent structure prototype to be distributed to 300 Haitian families that were victims of the 2010 earthquake.

When not in the office, Aimee teaches a design studio at the Boston Architectural College, encouraging critical readings of the intangible forces that affect the way we live and react to our physical environments.

 

David Hacin at 2013 Nantucket Conference

David Hacin took part in a panel on Saturday during the 2013 Nantucket Conference where he discussed his vision and strategy for designing spaces for startups and entrepreneurs. Laura Fitton of Boston's own HubSpot moderated the discussion with Sasaki's Victor Vizgaitis and Scott Simpson of KlingStubbins.

The conference is a yearly gathering for "forward-thinking entrepreneurs, investors, technologists, and executives" and a weekend to exchange ideas in Boston and New England's creative sector. You can read more about this year's event below or check out the Nantuck Conference for yourself!

Intern Spotlight: Christopher Li

We’re pleased to introduce Christopher Li as our current architecture co-op here at H+A. Chris comes to us as a third year student from the Northeastern University's Architecture Program. An accomplished young designer, Chris has a commendable student portfolio and has recently finished an internship at Kripper Architecture Studios. Chris is also very active in the local dance and hip hop scene. He  recently returned from a semester of study in Berlin, Germany where in addition to furthering his architectural education, he participated in dance competitions throughout Germany and Europe.

Happy Halloween 2012!

Fall has officially arrived! To celebrate the change of season, the H+A team gathered together for an evening of Halloween festivities; activities included a variety of autumn-inspired delicacies [spiced bourbon cider, anyone?]. Jennifer Clapp and David Hacin took home the first place prize in our annual pumpkin carving contest - check out the intricately carved spider sitting atop their winning pumpkin!
